History

The lobby of the French Country Inn was built in Denmark, disassembled, and shipped to Chicago for the 1893 Columbian Exposition World's Fair. After the fair, it was reassembled at its current location on Lake Como. The hotel has been under family management for over 50 years and was a known hideout for bank robber John Dillinger.
